No call centre, no dispatch script. You describe the door, we tell you what it is likely to be, and we book a window.
- Describe the door. Single or double, how old, and what it is doing. If a spring above the door has a visible gap in the coil, say so: that is the single most useful thing you can tell us on the phone, and it means the part comes on the truck.
- We give you a window, not a day. Grimsby, Beamsville and Stoney Creek are minutes from the shop. Hamilton, Burlington and St. Catharines are a QEW run.
- You get the price before the work. Written, itemised, and it does not move once the technician is on site unless something is found that changes the job, in which case you approve it first.
- The door gets balance-tested before we leave. Disconnect the opener, lift the door halfway, let go. A correctly counterbalanced door stays roughly where you put it. That test is the last thing we do on every call.
What we will tell you not to buy
Three jobs come up constantly where the honest answer is cheaper than the sale:
- A new opener when the door is the problem. A binding, out-of-balance door burns out openers. Fitting a stronger motor to a heavy door just moves the failure. The counterbalance gets fixed first.
- A whole new door for one dented section. Where the model, panel design and colour are still available, a single section can be replaced. Where the line has been discontinued, we will say so rather than sell you a mismatched panel.
- Insulation you will not feel. The R-value printed on a brochure is calculated on one section, not on the installed door, and the two numbers are not comparable. If the garage is unheated and the walls are uninsulated, a higher R-value door mostly buys you a quieter, stiffer door, which is a real benefit but a different one.
